How we handle your data
Last updated on August 12, 2026
As an accountancy firm we work with confidential information every day. This page explains which data Finexpert collects, why, how long we keep it and which choices you have. Still have a question after reading? Email us at info@finexpert.be.
Who is responsible
Finexpert is the data controller for the data collected on this website and in our services. You can find us at Plantin en Moretuslei 331B, 2140 Antwerpen. We are registered with the ITAA under number 53.441.845.
What data we collect
Which data we collect depends on how you get in touch with us.
- Clients: identity details, contact details, company number and the accounting, tax or social documents your file requires.
- Website visitors: technical data such as IP address and browser type, processed by every website through standard server logs. We do not use analytics or tracking cookies.
- Contact form: name, email address, phone number and the content of your message.
- Applicants: CV, cover letter and the details you share during an interview.
- Suppliers and partners: contact details and bank account number for our collaboration.
What we use it for
- Following up and managing your accounting, tax or social file correctly.
- Answering your question through the contact form or by phone.
- Meeting legal obligations, such as anti-money-laundering and accounting legislation.
- Assessing and following up on applications.
- Improving our website and services.
On what legal basis
We process your data on the basis of performing our agreement with you, a legal obligation resting on us as an accountancy firm, our legitimate interest in smooth service, or your explicit consent. For the contact form and cookies we ask for that consent separately, and you can withdraw it at any time.
How long we keep it
- Client files: up to 10 years after the end of the collaboration, as anti-money-laundering and accounting legislation require.
- Applications: 2 years at most, unless you consent to us keeping your details longer.
- Contact form: until your question has been handled, with a reasonable follow-up period afterwards.
- Cookies: the retention period per cookie is set out in our cookie policy.
Who we share it with
We never sell your data. We only share it with parties that need it to handle your file, such as our payroll office, accounting software, IT and hosting partners, or public authorities where the law requires it. If an external party is involved, we always set down the arrangements about your data in a processing agreement.
How we secure it
We protect your data with encrypted connections, access management and secured software. Only staff who actually handle your file get access to your data.
Your rights
You have the right to view your data, to have it corrected or deleted. You can restrict its processing, object to it, or request your data in a readable format. If you have given consent anywhere, you can withdraw it free of charge at any time.
To exercise one of these rights, email info@finexpert.be. We reply within a month. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your request, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority via gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our services or the legislation change. The date at the top of this page shows when we last updated it.
